Composite Aluminium / Wood Sliding Sash Window

A range of custom designed sliding sash windows crafted from clear, blemish-free wood with a polished pebble finish.
Windows and doors have been tested to the following standards:
Sliding sash windows have been tested to 2,000 Pa.
BS 6206:1981 – Flat glass for use in buildings.
BS EN 1026 and 1027 – Weathertightness
BS EN 12211 – Resistance to wind loads.
They have also been designed to comply with the recent amendments of the Building Regulations including:
Part B: Fire Safety
Part E: Resistance to the passage of sound
Part F: Ventilation
Part L1: Conservation of fuel and power in dwellings
Part L2: Conservation of fuel and power in buildings other than dwellings
Part M: Access and facilities for disabled people
Sound reduction: Standard double glazing will achieve 28dB sound reduction. Optional glazing systems are available to achieve 34dB and in excess of 40dB with the use of the storm screen/combination storm screen.
Wood windows have been approved by planning authorities for use in conservation areas and up to grade 2 listed buildings.
Thermal values and light transmittance are dependent on the type of glazing selected.

Any combination of the following heights and widths.
Frame height:
838mm, 940mm, 1040mm, 1143mm, 1245mm, 1346mm, 448mm, 1550mm, 1650mm, 1753mm, 1854mm, 1956mm, 2057mm.
Frame width:
543mm, 645mm, 746mm, 800mm, 850mm, 900mm, 950mm, 1050mm, 1150mm.

Wood sliding sash custom sizes:

Minimum frame width: 340mm, minimum frame height: 635mm.
Maximum frame width: 1660mm, maximum frame height: 3275mm.

Bay windows:

Sliding sash windows can also be assembled into 30°, 45°, 60° or 90° Bay Windows.
Custom angle assemblies are also available.

Bow windows:

Curved bow windows are available in both custom and standard variations and sizes.

Picture Units

Picture Units are fixed glazing units of larger sizes designed to have corresponding sightlines to the sliding sash range. See details below.
Standard frame

Standard size picture units:

Any combination of the following heights and widths.

Frame width:
1050mm, 1254mm, 1356mm, 1560mm, 1762mm.

Custom size picture units:

provide windows manufactured to custom sizes within the following minimum and maximum sizes.
Minimum frame width: 340mm, minimum frame height: 400mm.
Maximum frame width: 2667mm, Maximum frame height: 2667mm

Frame:

Frame width: 116mm(excluding exterior casing). Frame thickness: 17mm.
Ponderosa Pine wood interior and exterior.
Also available in Mahogany and Douglas Fir.

Sash:

Operating and transom unit sash thickness: 41mm.
Tilt-in sash mechanism allows cleaning from the interior. Not available on larger sizes.
Sashes may be removed from the interior for maintenance.
Ponderosa Pine wood interior and exterior.
Also available in Mahogany and Douglas Fir.

Interior and exterior finish:

Bare or primed interior or exterior.
We do not recommend a bare exterior.
A fully finished option is also available.

Operating hardware:

Sash lock and keeper: open style crescent cam lock with sash release lever, surface mounted.
Optional sash lift or fingerpulls routed into the bottom rail of sash available.
Colour: Satin Taupe.
Optional: Bronze, White, Bronze, Brass, Antique Brass, Oil Rubbed Bronze, Satin Chrome and Satin Nickel.
Balance System: Concealed balance system

Weatherstrip:

Operating units: Continuous foam filled bulb at head jamb, jambs, check-rail and bottom rail.
Picture and Transom Units: Continuous weatherstrip at perimeter: foam filled bulb weather-strip at jamb, head and sill.

Ponderosa Pine wood interior extensions available for various wall thickness factory applied, finish to match interior. Also available in Mahogany and Douglas Fir.

Insect screens:

Aluminium screen: Full screen standard Frame colour: White, Pebble Gray, Bronze, Bahama Brown or Evergreen.
Screen mesh: 18 by 16 mesh. Screen type: Charcoal fibreglass, Charcoal aluminium wire, Black aluminium wire, Bright aluminium wire, Bright bronze wire.

Storm sash and screen:

Wood framed combination storm sash and screen/or wood storm sash available for exposed sites and increased sound deadening.

Removable interior wood grilles (glazing bars):

Bar: Ponderosa Pine, 19mm or 29mm wide bars.
Pattern: Rectangular or custom lite layouts available

Interior/Exterior Glazing Bars (Simulated Divided Lites):

Surface applied interior and exterior bars to simulate true glazing bars with double glazing.
Interior bar: Ponderosa Pine wood, 16mm, 22mm or 29mm wide bars, finish to match interior. Also available in Mahogany and Douglas Fir.
Exterior bar: Ponderosa Pine wood, 16mm, 22mm or 29mm wide bars, finish to match exterior. Also available in Mahogany and Douglas Fir.
Pattern: Rectangular, Georgian, Victorian, Queen Anne, Radius, Gothic and custom lite layouts available.
Optional aluminium spacer bars (between glass panes) available to further simulate an authentic appearance.

Authentic Glazing Bars (Authentic Divided Lite):

Bar: Interior and exterior pine wood, insulated glass 43mm wide bars, finish to match interior and exterior. 22mm wide bars also available for single glazed windows only.
Pattern: Rectangular, Georgian, Victorian, Queen Anne, Radius, Gothic and custom lite layouts available. Size restrictions.

Glass and glazing:

Glazing method: Double glazed with warm edge spacer bars, Single glazed, or Single glazed with secondary glazed panel.
Glazing seal: Silicone glazed, to provide additional security and eliminate visible glazing seals between glass and wooden beading.
Standard glazing type: Softcoat Low E II with Argon (to meet Part L requirements).
Optional glazing types: Clear, Laminated, Tempered, Obscure, Bronze tint, Gray tint, Reflective Bronze and Hardcoat Low E.
Glazing will be altitude adjusted for higher elevations, Argon gas not used.
Custom glazing capabilities also available for individual project needs.

Accessories:

Installation brackets: 162mm, 238mm or 390mm.
Masonry brackets: 152mm or 254mm.
A wide range of standard exterior casing designs such as Brick mould casing, Stucco casing, or Flat casing and many other options also available.
A wide range of standard interior plinth blocks and architrave are available.

Preservative treatment:

WOODTREAT MB is a clear water repellent wood preservative which has been specially formulated by Kop–Coat, Inc. for the treatment of millwork prior to factory or field priming, painting, finishing. It penetrates into the wood to provide effective long–term protection from moisture, mould, mildew, decay and wood destroying fungi which would adversely affect the appearance and/or serviceability of the millwork.
A biodegradable additive also manufactured by Kop–Coat, Inc., is added to the WOODTREAT MB for protection against termites, carpenter ants, beetles and other wood destroying insects.
